It's time to sign on for winter ball! We will have a sign-on 14 March 10:30am, immediately following our presentation breakfast BBQ. Come on parents, seniors, 15yr olds, past members, new members, men and ladies - let's play ball!
Brian will run a development program at the club for any of the junior players that are interested. Please be sure to get in contact and register your interest.
If you’re wondering what you can do this off-season to help improve your performance on the baseball field next summer, then the 2015 QBBA Off-Season Strength and Conditioning (S&C) Program may be just what you’re looking for.
More information, including the various venues, costs and schedules can now be found on the BQ webpage at http://www.qld.baseball.com.au/News/2015-qbba-strength-conditioning-program-20-off-for-the-first-60-registrations . The programs are designed to help athletes build strength, power and agility, increase resilience (resistance to injury) and to provide enough information and experience that athletes can continue to train at home on their own.
Now with venues across Brisbane and the Gold Coast to choose from, and the fact that BQ has agreed to subsidise the cost by $20 for the first 60 registrations, you’ve got no excuses. $60 for an 8-week program that includes weekly instruction and feedback from a qualified S&C coach is fantastic value, so register now so you don’t miss out..!
The QBBA also includes a Coaches Education program. This program gives coaches an opportunity to work with some of the best coaches and athletes in Queensland, and an opportunity to immerse themselves in the NCAS Level 4 accreditation material. Coaches who complete this program may have the cost of updating their accreditation covered by BQ! More information is also on the BQ website. We have a growing body of online resources which means even coaches from regional areas can get involved.
The QBBA also has a Facebook page that contains all the up-to-date information on the various components of the QBBA program as soon as they are available. It's also a great resource for baseball learning material and an opportunity for sharing, comments and discussion with other baseball people.
Please be sure to stop by this page regularly, and 'Like' as many of the posts on this page as possible. Facebook have changed their procedures recently, and just 'liking' the page does not necessarily mean all posts will appear in your own news feed. Your news feed will be filled with the pages you most engage with, so be sure to engage with the QBBA Facebook page!
